Motivation: A year ago, during the Christmas season, our group of young film makers shot an intimate documentary about a man trying to fight the deamons of the past in present day Belfast. We were moved by his story, but also by the history of others, and think that people should not be forgotten when a conflict seems to be over. As a gratitude for sharing, we have decided to make the film first available to the citizens of Belfast themselves. This Christmas season they are able to watch the film in their own homes through Video On Demand.

‘When the war ends’ won the award for Best Debut at the Netherlands Film Festival with the following comment by the jury:
“The film makes the jury feel that the main character is one of many being torn apart by the horrors of civil war.”
